Instructions

Preparation

  • Place a pizza steel or stone in the oven and preheat it to 500°F (260°C) for 45 minutes.
  • Flour a pizza peel generously and set it aside.
  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the stick of salted butter and chopped garlic. Cook and stir until melted and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

  • On a floured surface, take one dough ball and flatten it into a large disk, leaving a one-inch lip around the edge.
  • Lift and shape the disk into a 12-inch circle.

Cooking

  • Place the shaped dough onto the pizza peel and jiggle gently to ensure it isn’t sticking.
  • Spoon the garlic butter mixture over the surface of the dough.
  • Scatter half of the herb mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle flaky salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Slide the pizza onto the preheated steel or stone and bake for 5 minutes.
  • Turn on the broiler and broil the pizza for 2-4 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle half of the minced chives on top.
  • Serve immediately while warm.
  • Repeat with the remaining dough ball and toppings.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best results. For thicker crust, let dough rise longer or add extra yeast. Experiment with different herb toppings based on taste.
