Ingredients
  

For the Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened For a velvety texture.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness.

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, diced Provides a burst of flavor.

For the Wontons

  • 20-24 pieces wonton wrappers Forms crispy envelopes for the filling.
  • Vegetable oil for frying Heat to 350°F (175°C).

For Coating

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Sweet touch for coating.
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon Adds warmth and aroma.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the diced blueberries.
  • Lay a wonton wrapper flat and add about 1 tsp of the cheesecake mixture to the center.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and press to seal, forming a triangle or pouch shape.

Frying

  • In a large pot or deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully drop a few wontons into the hot oil, frying for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

Coating and Serving

  • In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • While the wontons are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  • Serve warm with blueberry jam or whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

Ensure the oil is at the right temperature to prevent greasy wontons. Experiment with different fruit fillings for variety.
