Ingredients

For the Platter

  • 12 small small tortillas (corn or flour) Warmed to perfection
  • 2 cups shredded chicken, cooked with taco spices Delivering bursts of flavor
  • 2 cups grilled carne asada, marinated with lime and garlic Provides smoky richness
  • 2 cups slow-cooked carnitas, ultra-tender Seasoned just right
  • 1 bowl crispy chips For scooping and enjoying
  • 1 bowl creamy guacamole Adds refreshing notes to balance the dish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gently heat the tortillas in a skillet or microwave until they’re hot and pliable.
  • In a large skillet, add cooked chicken and taco seasoning with a splash of water. Cook on medium heat until the chicken soaks up the flavors, then shred into bite-sized pieces.
  • Marinate carne asada in lime and garlic for at least 30 minutes. Grill over high heat until juicy and charred, then slice thinly.
  • In a slow cooker, combine pork shoulder with seasonings and broth. Cook low and slow until fork-tender.
  • Serve the tortillas with cooked fillings, chips, and guacamole, inviting guests to assemble their own tacos.

Notes

For guacamole elevation, add diced tomatoes, finely chopped onions, or jalapeños. Rotisserie chicken works as a shortcut for shredded chicken. Prepping meat the night before saves time.
