Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls Soft and buttery rolls that serve as the perfect outer layer.
  • 1/2 pound deli-sliced roast beef Tender, juicy roast beef is the star of this dish.
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese Creamy and nutty cheese that adds meltiness.
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix Infuses the dish with savory depth.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Adds richness and helps achieve a golden crust.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Adds umami and tanginess.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds aromatic warmth to the dish.
  • 1 cup beef broth For dipping, rich and flavorful.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Roll out one can of crescent rolls into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching seams to create a solid layer.
  • Layer the roast beef over the crescent roll base and sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese on top.
  • In a small bowl, combine the dry onion soup mix, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Drizzle over the cheese layer.
  • Roll out the second can of crescent rolls on top, pinching seams as needed.

Cooking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • While baking, heat the beef broth in a small pot.
  • Let cool slightly, cut into squares, and serve with warm beef broth for dipping.

Notes

To enhance your squares, consider adding sautéed onions or freshly chopped herbs for added freshness. For a spicier kick, a dash of hot sauce or pepperjack cheese works well. Ensure seams are pinched to prevent leaking during baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
