Instructions
 

Caramelizing the Onions

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the thinly sliced onions, stirring occasionally for about 15-20 minutes until they become soft and golden brown.
  • Sprinkle sugar over the onions, continuing to cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the beef broth and let it simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Set the caramelized onions aside.

Preparing Burger Patties

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat, then form the mixture into four patties.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  • Preheat your skillet or grill to medium-high heat.
  • Place the patties onto the hot surface, cooking for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  • Immediately place a slice of Swiss cheese on each cooked patty and allow it to melt.
