Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  • In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  • Divide the batter into three portions. Stir cocoa powder into one, fold in strawberry jam into another, and leave the last portion vanilla-flavored.

Baking

  • Fill cupcake liners with layers of chocolate, strawberry, and then vanilla batter.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
