Dough and Filling

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough Serves as the exterior
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Creamy, melty cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce Zesty sauce for flavor
  • 1/2 cup diced pepperoni Savory kick; substitute with veggies for vegetarian option
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning Blend of oregano, basil, and thyme
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash to create a golden glaze
  • optional grated Parmesan cheese For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into 6-8 rectangles or circles.
  • Spread a small spoonful of pizza sauce onto each piece of dough, leaving space around the edges.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and add diced pepperoni or other toppings.
  • Fold the dough over the filling, pressing edges together and crimping with a fork to seal.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before enjoying while warm.

Notes

Experiment with various fillings such as bell peppers, mushrooms, or different types of cheese. For spicy flavors, add jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
