Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook manicotti shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce, basil, and oregano. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully fill each manicotti shell with the ricotta mixture.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange stuffed manicotti shells in a single layer over the sauce. Top with the remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with garlic bread or a side salad. Enjoy!
