Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cooking Meatballs

  • Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the beef broth, sour cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.

Baking

  • Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the baking dish, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

Serving

Notes

For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken. This dish reheats well, making it great for leftovers. Adjust the sauce thickness to your preference with more or less broth.
