Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the orange cake mix, orange soda (or orange juice), vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix according to the package instructions until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.

Filling and Frosting

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, cold milk, and orange extract (if using) until thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the creamy frosting evenly over the cooled cake.

Garnishing

  • Top with orange zest, orange slices, or white chocolate shavings as desired.

Chilling

  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
