Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs acts as a binding agent
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree creamy and bold
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil smooth and light
  • 1/2 cup orange juice zesty and refreshing

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour fluffy and versatile
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon aromatic and warm
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg spicy and fragrant
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves earthy and aromatic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to balance flavors

Sugars and Chocolate

  • 1 cup granulated sugar sweet and fine
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar moist and caramel-like
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips rich and decadent

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by spraying it generously with non-stick spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fully combined and smooth. Add pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, and orange juice, and whisk until well blended.
  • Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in the lower third of the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with few crumbs.
  • Once baked, cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Consider adding chopped nuts for extra texture. Serve warm or at room temperature, ideally with whipped cream or ice cream. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
