Soft and Chewy M&M Cookies

Ingredients
For the Cookie Dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Softened to creamy perfection
- 1 cup packed brown sugar Adds a rich, caramel flavor

Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to ensure even distribution.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix gently until just combined.
- Fold in the M&M's and mini chocolate chips if using.
- Scoop out portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
- Press a few extra M&M's onto the tops of the cookie dough balls before baking.
Baking
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking will enhance flavor and texture. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
