Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the hulled and sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently to mix, then let sit for about 30 minutes.
  • In another bowl, combine 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is slightly frothy.
  • Fold the strawberry mixture gently into the ice cream base, ensuring even distribution while maintaining some chunks for texture.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.

Churning & Freezing

  • Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes, until soft-serve consistency.
  • Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container, smooth the top, close it tightly, and freeze for at least 4 hours.
