Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula.
  • Sprinkle in the ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let this cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • In a separate dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat until soft and pliable.
  • Once the beef is seasoned and the tortillas are warmed, distribute the beef evenly among the tortillas.
  • Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the hot beef, allowing the residual heat to melt the cheese.
  • Finish your tacos with diced red onion and fresh cilantro. Add a dollop of fresh cream on top.
  • Serve immediately with small bowls of hot sauce and lime wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the ground beef in spices for an hour before cooking. For spicier tacos, add chopped jalapeños or a spicier hot sauce.
